Information/History:
H.F. MEYER – more than 150 years
(Company's history)
The H.F. MEYER Company has been established at Neustadt/Holstein in
the year 1846. Today the family business will be managed by the 5th generation,
the 6th is still preparing itself to take over the leadership.
The manufacturing of machines has begun in the year 1889. Among manufacturing,
sale and service of agricultural machines and devices, a lot of home-technology
installations
as well as sale and service for motor vehicles has been
made.
After the year 1945 was extended to a machine plant for serialized production
of agricultural machines. Also the make of packaging-test devices and
industrial conveying systems has been enlarged by intensifying the equipment
of breweries as well as food- and packaging industries.
The existing department of home-installation has been upgraded to an
efficient home-technology department. The production of agricultural machines
was stopped in the year 1966. Since August 1973 the current General Manager,
Dipl.-Ing. K. Robert Meyer, and his
team develops continuously new machinery products for
several industrial branches, e.g. modern high-performance conveying systems
and packing machines.
By a continuous extension of the company and the successful tough industrial
use of the new products, the company succeeded in opening up new markets
and reserving a lasting place in the international competition. The export
of MEYER-products began in the year 1985 and nowadays it will be done
worldwide directly or by re-sellers
and plant manufacturers. By the new products and the expansion
of marketing, MEYER became consequently an equipper of such distinguished
industries like e.g. breweries, beverages, food, cosmetics, hygiene, pharmacy,
chemistry, mineral oil, packagings and tires.
To meet the service requirements
of the industrial customers, MEYER upgraded its service- and assembly
department up to a professional efficient team, which will do justice
to the international demands. The continuous enlargement of the design-department
in the eighties has led to new chances for
managing bigger projects in plant-engineering. The move
to the new building at the business area Neustadt i.H. in the year 1992
was just the first step of the necessary company expansion, which has
been finished by the purchase of a second adjacent building in the year
2000.
Since 1996 MEYER has an internal quality-management
system according to current international standards.
